Rough month

February has been a very rough month for the Judiscak household.  Near the middle of this month, we found out Ryelan is not going to be a big sister - just yet.  This was a huge disappointment & we are so happy that we can find comfort with God during this time.  We aren't sure we would get through it without Him!  The hardest part has been the waiting and anticipation of waiting for it to be over so we can move on.

Right after this sad news, our sweet little girl got the stomach flu!  She threw up all night Friday night.  We had several sheet changes & she even threw up on mommy!  Thanks Rye!  She was such a trooper as we gave her several baths that night.  Mommy & daddy were so so impressed because she did not even cry ONCE during the whole ordeal!  She continued to have diarhhea throughout the following week & that hasn't stopped yet.  She also has definitely lost her appetite.  We are anxious for our poor baby to be 100% again!

Mommy & Daddy were hit HARD with the bug Sunday night!  Mommy stayed home from church with Ryelan & she started feeling awful.  Daddy came home happy as can be & was puking his guts out within about 3 hours!  Mommy has this unfortunate habit of laughing uncontrollably at inapporopriate times & this was one of them.  Poor daddy was feeling awful & mommy was cracking up.  As karma would have it, mommy took his post at the toilet within an hour.  Yikes!  Mommy & daddy felt like they were on their death beds for the next 2 days & were astonished that Ryelan was taking it all so well.  We thank God for Grandma Linda who stayed with us for 2 days & took care of our brave little girl while we whined & moaned.

We were all feeling a bit better by Tuesday & then..........our dryer broke.  With all the pukey laundry, it decided it was done with us.  FUN STUFF!  Since this dryer is probably from the 70's & we have already dumped $100 into it once, we decided it was time for a new one!  Thank goodness for tax returns!

So all in all, it has been a "fun" month.  Of course, it could have been worse & we have kept our sense of humor through it all :)  However, I can say with certainty that we are READY FOR MARCH!

Chatty Cathy

Our little chatty Cathy does not cease to amaze me!  Today she busted out "montey" = monkey & "applesus" = applesauce!  I even caught it on camera for those non-believers!  Haha!  She has also recently started saying "hereugo" = here you go all strung together, "deesees" = downstairs (her FAVORITE PLACE!) & "teecee-ee) = tent city (getting under a blanket.....daddy calls it tent city!)

Ps-Ryelan won the nap war.  Surprise Surprise. :)

The nap war

So the past few days Miss Ryelan the diva has not wanted to take a nap......even though she is super tired & crabby!  Mommy finally said "That is it! I'm the boss & I am going to win this nap war!"  She decided letting Ryelan cry it out would be the only way.  Who wants to rock/sway/sing their 16 month old to sleep every day?  As much as mommy loves cuddling Ryelan, she sure is getting heavy & with a growing belly on top of it, there is no way this can continue.  So....mommy put Ryelan in her crib, gave her a smooch & said "nigh nigh love".  Ryelan screamed bloody murder for 15 minutes while mommy looked up the Ferber method online.  Mommy went to check on Ryno after 15 minutes of screaming "Mommy mommy mommy hold you hold you daddy daddy mommy hold you".  Mommy laid Ryelan down & patted her back & said "nigh nigh" & left.  This set Ryelan off even more.  After 10 more minutes, mommy went back.  She laid Ryelan down & gave her Elmo.  Mommy said "nigh nigh Elmo, nigh nigh Ryelan".  After about 3 minutes of stroking her forehead, she FINALLY fell asleep! WOW! Mommy was way impressed!  We will see if this lasts........ :)

Phone call

Yesterday was Ryelans first "real" conversation on the phone with daddy.  Here is how the conversation went...."hi daddy"......."bye bye".  That's it.  Hahah!  It was still a big step for us because she usually just puts her ear to the phone with a blank stare on her face!  Daddy was very excited to hear Miss Ryelan's sweet little voice over the phone!
