2 years old!

First off I am embarrassed and sad that I haven't updated at all ALLLLL summer long!  I will try to be better from here on out.

Wow!  I cant believe my little baby is TWO YEARS OLD already!  Everyone tells you that time flies but you never really understand until you are in that situation.  The last two years have been the best years of our lives.  We are so blessed to be parents of this wonderful little lady.  God is GOOD I tell ya!

Here's an update of Ryelan at 2 years old:

Stats:  33 in long (25th %ile), 23.5 lbs (10th %ile), head 19 in (60th %ile)
She is just a little bitty thing with an apparently large coconut!  Haha!  She's come a long way since those super pudgy days in infancy!!!!

Language  Our Dr. said Ryelan's language skills are at a 3 year old level.  She uses full sentences when she speaks (usually 5-8 words long), uses pronouns properly, and can even sing MANY songs.  Her vocabulary is ridiculous.  We often ask her what something is, thinking she doesn't know, & she comes out with the word!  She even has such a handle on language that she is beginning to make jokes!  Hmmm Justin....wonder where she got that from!  She likes to call things by a different name & then laugh about it or replace words in a song to be silly.

Ryelan still has some "toddler talk".  You can understand her 95% of the time, but she still has a few sounds that are hard for her to say.  For example, she says the "t" sound for "k" (titty tat) & the "d" sound for "g" (pawpaw den).  I'm pretty sure that is it.

Ryelan knows all her colors (besides the obscure ones), can say the alphabet, knows at least 60% of her letter sounds, can identify some letters, & can count to 14 or 15.

She also has started to pretend.  Thank goodness for this because it means she can now play on her own for awhile!  Hallelujah!  Mommy can now clean/cook dinner!  We LOVE to watch her pretend!  It's amazing how such a little person can come up with their own little scenarios :)  She loves to play with babies & her little dollhouse people.  She has given her dollhouse people the names of our family.  The little baby in the pink outfit is Lawson!  Haha!  Sorry Lawson!

Songs  Ryelan is a singer for sure!  She knows a ton of songs & picks up on them very fast!  She enjoys listening to music and especially loves Bob "Mawley", Renee  and Jeremy, "Dynamite" by Taio Cruz, "Boom Boom Pow" by the Black Eyed Peas.....and of course any song from Yo Gabba Gabba!

Her favorite songs to sing are Baa Baa Black Sheep, Jesus Loves Me, ABCs, Are you sleeping brother John?, Don't worry about a thing (Bob Marley), Thank you Jesus (prayer), Now I Lay Me (prayer), Ring Around the Rosies, I'm a Little Tea Pot, Teddy Bear Teddy Bear, Cinderella, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, (Gabba) There's a Party in my Tummy, Don't Be Afraid, What was that sound?, Halloween, and probably more I can't think of right now ;)

Potty  For at least 6 months Ryelan has been dry overnight so we have tried putting her on the potty.  She goes nearly every time but does not like to poop on it.  Also, she won't tell us when she needs to go, we just have to remember to take her.  As long as we remember, she can stay dry all day but sometimes we forget or get lazy ;)  The Dr. says she will start to tell us when she's ready.  We are fine to take her though because it sure saves on diapers!

Food  Ryelan is a semi - picky eater.  She is not a fan of vegetables besides corn & is pretty picky when it comes to meat.  She LOVES all fruit & is a huge snack eater.  In fact, she is constantly telling us she needs "sacks" (snacks).  Ryelan is a carb girl like mommy :)  Her favorite foods are "doldfishies" (goldfish crackers), "tat-ers" (crackers), "dapes" (grapes), and watermelon.  She also really likes "hot dods" (hot dogs -- which really means turkey smoked kielbasa)

Funny Things  Ryelan has become quite witty.  She apparently has picked up the usual child obsession with peepee and poopoo.  She will say say "I'm a little poopoo short and sout(stout)".  We will respond "You're a poopoo?", which cracks her up!  She also likes to call things something different.  "There's Baylee....noooooo that's But-tup".  This is kind of a bad example but I can't think of anything right now!  Haha!  She is very into identifying people as a BOY or a GIRL "dirl".  She sometimes likes to call people by the wrong gender and thinks this is also hilarious.

Here are a few cute/funny things Ryelan has said or done over the last few months from my facebook status' (in reverse order):

-Tonight at bedtime ryelan wrapped her arms around my neck and said "I wanna snuddle (snuggle) u mommy. You're so tuddly (cuddly)!" ♥"

-Ryelan playing with her little people....."hi mommy!" "hi rye rye!" "what r u doing?" "ummm nufin" "oh I lite ur shoes!" ....lol I love to watch her pretend!!! ♥

-I asked ryelan "what's your name?" "ryelan doo-sat" "how old r u?" "I'm 2!" "& where do you live?" "uuuummm down the lane!" hahhahahaha!!!!!!!!?!? She cracks me up!!!!!
-The last 3 times (out of a total of MAYBE 10 times) I've given ryelan juice, she's given it back to me & said "no mommy I need water!" hey I'm not arguing :)

-Last night I said "ryelan you are 2 already!! What r we gonna do with you???" She replied "doe(go) to montey(monkey) joes!!!" hahaha!!!!!!!

-"take! i wanna piece of take daddy!!!!" (cake) LOL sometimes being able to talk is not a good thing ;)
-Ryelan was saying letters in her sleep this morning....a....f......p....... Hahaha! :)

-Ryelan was telling me who is a boy and who is a girl .... She said "daddy's a boy! He's MY boy, mommy!" :)

‎-"ryelan can I change your diaper?"....."no"......"do u want to just sit there in your pee then?"....."not really." LOL!!!

-Ryelan is completely obsessed with W's! Haha! She finds them everywhere!!! Walgreens.....waffle house.....sanitary sewer covers......kohls power hour ad.....lol!

-In the car the other day I told Ryelan "mommy needs to go potty," she responded "hahaha! That hila-wee-us! (hilarious)" lol! That's her new word apparently! She also told my aunt " baby brother tomin. It's hila-wee-us"

-thinks its hilarious when ryelan tells me "bye bye" and says shes going to "sain louis"..... but is dreading the day that its actually true! lol

-ive had a really bad cold lately and have been taking some medicine & cough drops. the other night ryelan walks up to me with this puppy dog face & says "mommy im sit (sick). i need meh-cine (medicine)" hahahahahah! stinker ;)

-Ryelan has started saying "i do NOT" for ex - do you want a bite? "i do NOT!" i just asked her if i can change her diaper and her response.... "do NOT!" LOL!

-Ryelan got her 2 yr shots and she kept telling us that the "little dirl pote you!"  (little girl poke you).  She calls grown women "little girl".  hahaha!

Misc  Ryelan is such a good little girl.  She is still a toddler, don't get me wrong, but she is full of personality & such a joy to be around :)  She has started a soccer camp with daddy on Tuesday nights.  Most of the kids are boys and are a year and a half older than her, so she's a little behind, but it's really fun to watch her.  Hopefully she takes after daddy & not mommy!  I don't know.....she's pretty girly..... She loves dolls/dress up!

I will finish this post with a "few" recent pictures of Rye Rye <3

Potty Dance

Mommy & daddy got Ryelan a little potty just to get her used to it.  We had absolutely no expectations of her using it yet.  We sat her on it one morning & surprise!  She went potty!  So far, Ryelan has gone potty 4 times in her potty!  She even knows how to wipe without being taught!  Mommy & daddy are so proud.  Hopefully potty training will be easy.  HAHAHAH yea right :)

We will miss you Joan!

Our family moved into our new house last April.  We were so excited to be here & had not even imagined what a blessing it was to become.  Our neighborhood has the absolute SWEETEST neighbors on Earth.  They are all so friendly & like a family.  Most of the people in  our neighborhood have been here close to 50 years!  They are loving Christian people.  When we first moved in, two of our neighbors had cut our grass before we even met them!  Sometimes, a neighbor will take our trash can out to the street if we forget.  They just really look out for each other.

Our actual next door neighbors are the best!  We are so blessed.  George & Joan Schiller are the sweetest neighbors one could ask for.  They have become like family to us.  Joan has been struggling with lung issues for some years now & on Friday March 12, she became ill & was sent to the hospital.  By Tuesday, they had her on a respirator & she was not doing well.  Joan's family did not like to see her suffer & decided to take her off life support Tuesday evening.  Mawmaw Linda came over to watch Ryelan while mommy rushed to the hospital.  Poor sweet Joan was really struggling.  She ended up going to heaven later that evening.  We will miss Joan so much & cannot wait to see her again someday at the gates of heaven!
Here is Ryelan outside the church where Joan's memorial service was held.

Bossy baby

Daddy had left a high intensity Kansas basketball game on the TV during dinner.  At about a minute left in the game, he got up from the table to go watch.  Ryelan shouted "DADDY!" so daddy came back in & stood while he ate so that he could still watch the game.  Ryelan again shouted "Daddy!".  Daddy said "What?"  Ryelan pointed to his chair & said "SIT!"  Mommy & daddy were so surprised at our bossy little toddler!  We were dying laughing! :)

March language updates

Well.......Ryelan is talking up a storm now.  I cannot even think of all the words she now says to list them.  A few that come to mind (my favorites) are "I luhd doo" (I love you), "thank too ___" (thank you mommy, daddy, mawmaw, etc.), puzzle, applesauce, and the names of the characters on Yo Gabba Gabba.  Ryelan can point to all of her body parts including her elbows, knees, back & butt.  She can also name most of them.  She knows the all sounds & most names of all the basic animals (cow, sheep, dog, cat, snake, monkey, fish, horsey, bird, owl, duck, pig, lion, bear).  She even strings a few words together to make simple sentences!  She is quite the talker!  Also, most of the words she says are quite clear.  Of course, there are still a few words that we are confused about but she talks really really well for a 17 month old!!!!

Ryelan likes to play this little "up/down" game.  She lifts her hands up & says "up!" and then puts them down & says "down".  She also likes to play a similar "open/shut" game.  Mommy and daddy are just so impressed that she knows these words AND understands them so well she makes little games with them :)
Ryelan is ridiculously OBSESSED with puppies!!!!!!!  When she wakes up in the morning, one of the first thing she says is "puppy?".  She is just crazy about them.  Several of our neighbors have puppies & she loves to watch them walking outside.  Sometimes she gets very angry when they walk away from her to where she cannot see them!  She shouts "puppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"  Hahaha! Sometimes mommy & daddy take Ryelan to the mall to look at the puppies.  She is in heaven!  She has absolutely no fear of them either.  Our neighbor has a wild medium sized dog named Rosco who bolts past Ryelan & licks her face.  She absolutely loves it!  Mommy is almost getting puppy fever.  Almost.  But not quite.

Rough month

February has been a very rough month for the Judiscak household.  Near the middle of this month, we found out Ryelan is not going to be a big sister - just yet.  This was a huge disappointment & we are so happy that we can find comfort with God during this time.  We aren't sure we would get through it without Him!  The hardest part has been the waiting and anticipation of waiting for it to be over so we can move on.

Right after this sad news, our sweet little girl got the stomach flu!  She threw up all night Friday night.  We had several sheet changes & she even threw up on mommy!  Thanks Rye!  She was such a trooper as we gave her several baths that night.  Mommy & daddy were so so impressed because she did not even cry ONCE during the whole ordeal!  She continued to have diarhhea throughout the following week & that hasn't stopped yet.  She also has definitely lost her appetite.  We are anxious for our poor baby to be 100% again!

Mommy & Daddy were hit HARD with the bug Sunday night!  Mommy stayed home from church with Ryelan & she started feeling awful.  Daddy came home happy as can be & was puking his guts out within about 3 hours!  Mommy has this unfortunate habit of laughing uncontrollably at inapporopriate times & this was one of them.  Poor daddy was feeling awful & mommy was cracking up.  As karma would have it, mommy took his post at the toilet within an hour.  Yikes!  Mommy & daddy felt like they were on their death beds for the next 2 days & were astonished that Ryelan was taking it all so well.  We thank God for Grandma Linda who stayed with us for 2 days & took care of our brave little girl while we whined & moaned.

We were all feeling a bit better by Tuesday & then..........our dryer broke.  With all the pukey laundry, it decided it was done with us.  FUN STUFF!  Since this dryer is probably from the 70's & we have already dumped $100 into it once, we decided it was time for a new one!  Thank goodness for tax returns!

So all in all, it has been a "fun" month.  Of course, it could have been worse & we have kept our sense of humor through it all :)  However, I can say with certainty that we are READY FOR MARCH!

Chatty Cathy

Our little chatty Cathy does not cease to amaze me!  Today she busted out "montey" = monkey & "applesus" = applesauce!  I even caught it on camera for those non-believers!  Haha!  She has also recently started saying "hereugo" = here you go all strung together, "deesees" = downstairs (her FAVORITE PLACE!) & "teecee-ee) = tent city (getting under a blanket.....daddy calls it tent city!)

Ps-Ryelan won the nap war.  Surprise Surprise. :)
